SATURDAY will be a day of three workshops:
MATWORK PILATES AND FLEXIBILITY VS STABILITY
This course addresses the assessment of both hyper-mobility and rigidity and how to correct problems and imbalances. The class helps you to correctly balance core movements and functionally re-train core and spinal muscles. The class teaches how to modify movements for the individual needs of each client and provide the essential support to maximize and stabilize the movements through a complete program of exercises. Get an indepthunderstanding of the how to approach the same exercises with a different focus to achieve different results. We will perform the same exercises with a change of focus and body awareness to feel the differences we can make in our own bodies and our clients alignment.
THE STANDING REFORMER
From the original exercises to today's creative movement patterns of the standing Pilates repertoire, this class combines flow of movement with a challenging choreographed program. This standing Reformer course will enhance any reformer class and creates a dynamic program that honors the past but adds a contemporary vision of the Pilates work.
THE SPINE CORRECTOR - THE ENERGETIC BODY
This class is designed for the energetic body. Balancing rotational patterns with extension movements and variations of the Boomerang, the Side Leg Series and the Butterfly, you will experience a renewed appreciation of this dynamic piece of equipment.
PILATES FOR SCOLIOSIS
Scoliosis, in broad terms, refers to any lateral (side-to-side) curve of the spine. Scoliosis can create misalignments in the pelvis, vertebrae and rib cage. These misalignments are not self-contained in specific muscle groups, but influence all movements from standing to sitting to lying down. A component of treatment for scoliosis includes exercises that strengthen weak core muscles and stretch the tight structures of the trunk. With the emphasis on core alignment and stabilization, asymmetrical movement patterns, and a holistic approach, this Pilates Reformer program is designed to improve body awareness and increase core fitness and function.
